Will the Irish vote 'yes'?

European Union officials say their hopes are rising that Ireland will vote yes, in a second referendum on the Lisbon treaty, later this week.

The controversial accord is supposed to improve decision making across the EU and enhance its international profile - but it has been blocked since the Irish voted no last year. It has to be agreed by all 27 member states to come in to force.
