Prince's battle over Paris mansion

A Qatari prince is locked in a legal battle with French conservationists who object to his plans to renovate an historic 17th century mansion in Paris.

The prince recently bought the Hotel Lambert for $88m and he says the work would save it from decay.

But 8,000 people have signed a petition against it, and on Tuesday, a judge ordered the prince to suspend some of the work until a court rules on the objections.

David Chazan reports from Paris.
