Arrests following Hamburg clashes

Left-wing demonstrators have clashed with police following a street festival in the German city of Hamburg.

Riot police used water cannons to stop protesters throwing stones and bottles, and to extinguish some fire barricades. Several arrests were made.

The trouble follows another incident in the city on Friday, when 12 police officers were injured and 60 arrests made as riots broke out during a left-wing march against the far-right National Democratic Party (NPD).
