Protests in East Berlin: 1989 archive

In October 1989, thousands of people were demonstrating in East Berlin against the inauguration of Egon Krenz as head of state.

It followed other large-scale protests in Leipzig.

This is Brian Hanrahan's original report from October 24th 1989.
