Poland marks WWII anniversary

A ceremony has begun in Poland to mark the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II in Europe.

The pre-dawn service on Westerplatte peninsula near Gdansk was timed to match the moment a German battleship fired the first shots on a Polish fort in 1939.
