Divers find body off Cork coast

Lifeboat
Mr Latek and his son went missing on Sunday

Divers searching for a father and his 13-year-old son off the Cork coast have recovered a body.

It was recovered just after 1100 BST near the Natural Arch, just south of Cod's Head.

An air and sea search for the pair who went missing on Sunday resumed on Wednesday.

Piotr Latek, 44 from Poland, and his son Matthias had been fishing in the Cod's Head area. Fishing tackle and other equipment were found on Tuesday.

A car was also discovered.

The missing man was working as a baker while his wife and only child remained in Poland. The boy had been on holiday visiting his father.

It is feared they may have been swept from the rocks at Cod's Head in high winds and sea conditions.
