G8 leaders visit quake zone

The world's most powerful leaders are preparing to tackle some of its most urgent issues at the G8 summit.

They had lunch at L'Aquila on Wednesday, where nearly 300 people were killed in a quake in April.

An evacuation plan was in place in case a tremor should hit during the summit.

Maurizio Massari, the Italian foreign minister's spokesman, talks to the BBC's Duncan Kennedy about expectations surrounding the G8 summit.
