Three people are dead after a shooting outside the Norwegian capital Oslo in what, local police told the BBC, was a domestic incident.

Norwegian media quote police as saying a man shot dead two women in the suburb of Nesoeya before killing himself.

The gunman is believed to have been in his 60s and to have known both women, one in her 50s, the other younger.

Armed police units could be seen fanning out at the scene of the shooting earlier.
