Sarkozy insults allies over lunch

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has apparently insulted three of his closest allies during a private lunch at the Elysée Palace.

He reportedly described Barack obama as "not up to speed", criticised German Chancellor Angela Merkel and said the Spanish Prime Minister, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, was "perhaps not very intelligent".
