Norway school shooting kills two

Norway map

A man and a woman have been killed in a shooting incident in the car park of a school in the far north of Norway, police say.

Details of the incident in Tromsoe are sketchy, but a police officer said "only these two people were involved".

Police were not looking for an attacker, they added.

Staff at the school confirmed that there had been a shooting, but said that no children were involved and that all of their pupils were safe.

Police spokesman Torstein Lindquister told broadcaster NRK: "Two adults are involved and both are shot."

One person was confirmed dead at the scene and another was later reported to have died.
