Anti-government rioting hits Riga

An anti-government protest in Riga, Latvia has turned into a riot after hundreds of demonstrators clashed with police.

Many attempted to storm buildings near the parliament of the EU and Nato nation, but were dispelled.

The violence followed a peaceful rally which saw thousands calling for early elections.
