Turkey plans landmine clearance


Turkey is planning to clear its 800 km border with Syria of landmines to free-up agricultural land, providing work in the country's poorest region.

But activists say the real humanitarian priority is to clear the mines planted away from the border during the long conflict with Kurdish separatists.
