Czechs and Slovaks are marking 40 years since a massive military clampdown by Warsaw Pact countries which began on August 21 1968.

Soviet forces entered the former Czechoslovakia in response to the liberal reforms of Prime Minister Alexander Dubcheck, a period which came to be known as "The Prague Spring"
