Germany fire victims remembered
Coffins of the victims of a fire in Ludwigshafen, Germany, are laid out in front of the burnt-out building, 10 February 2008
Some 20 Turks were reported to have been injured in the fire
Hundreds of people, most of them Turks, have gathered at a memorial service for nine people killed in a fire in southern Germany.

Turkish flags were draped over the coffins of the victims at the interfaith ceremony in Ludwigshafen.

The fire caused an angry reaction in Turkey amid reports of a racially-motivated attack on Germany's largest immigrant community.

Police are still investigating the cause of the fire.

The bodies of the victims, who included five children, were due to be flown to Turkey for burial.

Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who travelled to Ludwigshafen on Thursday to visit victims' families, has asked for Turkish police to take part in the probe.

Last Sunday's fire caught international attention when a man was photographed dropping a baby from a window.

Both the baby and his parents survived.
