New Euro-China auto deal

The Franco-Italian car-making conglomerate, Irisbus, has signed a joint statement with the Chinese Liaoning Huanghai Automobile group declaring the two firms' intention of manufacturing vehicles in China.

The partnership to be based in Dandong in the province of Liaoning will be geared towards the production of four-and-a-half-thusand vehicles for the Chinese market each year.

The joint letter of intent was signed in Barcelona by Liaoning's president, Zhang Lin, and the director-general of Irisbus, Elios Pascual.

Irisbus is made up of the car-making divisions of the French firm, Renault, and the Italian firm, Iveco.
