President Kaczynski espouses traditional Catholic values
Polish President Lech Kaczynski has been admitted to hospital suffering from a stomach infection and fever but he is due to leave later on Monday.

A doctor at the Warsaw military hospital said Mr Kaczynski's condition was already improving.

The 58-year-old president fell ill during the night and became "very weak", the doctor said.

Poland is facing an election later this year, after Mr Kaczynski's twin brother Jaroslaw ended a turbulent coalition.

The Polish parliament is scheduled to vote later this week on the plan to hold an early election. Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski has named 21 October as the likely date.

President Kaczynski had to cancel his visit to a school outside Warsaw on Monday to mark the beginning of the new academic year.
