Closure of Turkey's Islamic party is ruled final

The Turkish chief prosecutor has ruled that the constitutional court decision to close the Islamic Welfare Party is final.

The prosecutor said no appeals could be lodged against constitutional court judgements.

His ruling came a day after the Turkish government approved a number of draft laws seeking to curb the political influence of Islam.
