Brother of top Mafia turncoat shot

The brother of a prominent Mafia informer has been shot and killed in Sicily.

Italian police say the man, Emmanuele di Maggio, was ambushed on a country road, where an uncle and cousin were killed two months ago.

The man's brother, Balduccio di Maggio, was the driver for the Mafia supremo, Salvatore Riina, and helped police capture him five years ago.

He is also a key witness against the former prime minister, Giulio Andreotti, who's accused of associating with the Mafia.
