Ex-pop star admits pornography charge

A one-time member of the British nineteen-seventies pop group the Bay City Rollers has admitted possessing child pornography.

Derek Longmuir, who was the drummer in the band, pleaded guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court to having indecent photographs and videos of children.

He will be sentenced later.

The Bay City Rollers topped the British charts many times and were idolised by teenage girls.

Derek Longmuir later became a nurse. Last year another nineteen-seventies pop star, Gary Glitter, was jailed for four months for possessing child pornography.
