In pictures: Anti-coalition demos Thousands of people in Austria and France demonstrated on Wednesday night against Austria's far-right Freedom Party taking part in a coalition government. Below is a selection of pictures from the demos.
Protesters throng the streets of Vienna, rallying to the slogan "No to a coalition of racism".
More than 15,000 people booed and catcalled outside the headquarters of the conservative People's Party which has made a coalition pact with the Freedom Party.
The protests came as Israel recalled its ambassador from Vienna for an indefinite period.
Austria's intellectuals and artists also joined the protests in an open letter to Austrian President Thomas Klestil.
Public indignation over Freedom Party leader Jeorg Haider's rising influence spills into the streets.
Some 200 people demonstrated in front of the Austrian embassy in Paris.
