President of Ingushetia reelected

The president of the southern Russian republic of Ingushetia, Ruslan Aushev, has been reelected for another term.

Interfax agency quoted the head of the electoral commission Batyr Taldiyev as saying that Mr Aushev won sixty-six-and-a-half percent of the vote.

Nine candidates contested the election, which attracted a sixty percent turnout.
