The envoy went missing shortly after he arrived in Naples
A body found in a manhole in southern Italy has been identified as that of a missing Canadian diplomat.

Lewis Brooks Miskell, 49, who was based at the Canadian embassy in Vienna, Austria, disappeared during a visit to the port city of Naples in early March.

Police said that the body, found with a knife in its abdomen, had been identified using dental records.

A Nigerian national has been arrested after being found with Mr Miskell's credit cards, Italian media reports.

Naples police official Luigi Bonacura said a police investigation into Mr Miskell's death is ongoing.

Mr Miskell disappeared on 6 March, shortly after he arrived in Naples.
