Belgrade pursues Milosevic wife
Mira Markovic, widow of Slobodan Milosevic
Mira Markovic has been in self-imposed exile in Russia since 2003
Serbia has reinstated an arrest warrant for the widow of Slobodan Milosevic, Mirjana Markovic, after she failed to appear in a Belgrade court.

She faces charges of abuse of power by allegedly helping her son's nanny get a state-owned flat at a cheap price.

The warrant was suspended to allow her to return from exile in Russia to attend her husband's funeral, on condition she attended the hearing.

In the end, Ms Markovic did not leave Russia for the funeral.

She has been living in self-imposed exile in Russia since 2003, fearing arrest on fraud charges if she returns.

Mr Milosevic, the former president of Yugoslavia, was extradited to The Hague four years ago to face war crimes charges. He died of a heart attack in a prison cell in The Hague on 11 March.
