About a thousand workers at the Ford car plant in east London have gone on unofficial strike complaining of racism and bullying.
They claim the company has not done enough to stop supervisors abusing ordinary workers.
Union officials at the plant have asked the Commission for Racial Equality to investigate.
The strike followed a number of incidents in recent weeks which have heightened tension.
Last month, an Asian worker said he had been subjected to a torrent of racist abuse and confronted with Ku Klux Klan graffitti.
