Bomb explodes in French school overnight

The mayor of the eastern French city of Strasbourg, Roland Ries, has said there has been a wave of vandalism on public buildings and transport in recent months.

Mr Ries was speaking after an overnight bomb attack on a school in Strasbourg, which caused extensive damage but no injuries.

Correspondents say there's been concern that high unemployment among young people is behind a rise in lawlessness in France.
