Two Belgian men who were flown home from detention at the US naval base in Guantanamo Bay have been released.
The men, the only Belgians to be held at the camp in Cuba, were charged with belonging to a criminal organisation but freed pending investigations.
They were detained by the United States in Pakistan and Afghanistan following the 11 September attacks in 2001.
Belgian federal authorities did not release details on the conditions of the men's release.
One of the men is reported to be of Belgian-Turkish origin, while the other is said to be Belgian-Moroccan.
Last week, 17 Afghans being held in Guantanamo Bay were handed over to the Afghan authorities in Kabul.
So far more than 200 people have been freed from the United States' Guantanamo Bay base in Cuba. About 500 terror suspects remain there.
