The president of Macedonia, Kiro Gligorov, has said that ethnic-Albanian demands for independence are growing in Kosovo, because the international community has allowed some parts of the Serbian republic to be ethnically cleansed of Serbs.
In a BBC interview, President Gligorov said that while he does not oppose Kosovo's independence , it could set a precedent for a further division of states in the region, especially Bosnia-Hercegovina.
He called for international recognition that Serbs as well as ethnic-Albanians have been victims of the Kosovo conflict.
