The leader of Serbia's main opposition party, Zoran Djindjic, has appealed to the West to help rebuild Serbia -- he said it would be the best way of strengthening opposition to President Milosevic.
Speaking after talks in London with the British foreign secretary, Robin Cook, Mr Djindjic said the Serb people could not fight for democracy if they were afraid for their everyday existance.
He said there were opposition administrations in thirty cities in Serbia, and helping them with reconstruction work would not be seen as support for the government.
Mr Djindjic also said in an interview with the BBC that his party would be prepared to see President Milosevic extradited to face the international war crimes tribunal in The Hague.
