The German magazine, Stern, has confirmed that two of its journalists were killed in Kosovo on Sunday.
The magazine said its photographer, Volker Kraemer, and reporter, Gabriel Gruener, were driving from the town of Prizren to deliver their material across the Macedonian border when they were shot at long range by unidentified gunmen.
A Macedonian translator working with them is still missing.
The German foreign ministry said reports of a third body having been found were erroneous.
