A KLA spokesman has said the organisation will not hand over all of its weapons as a part of a Kosovo peace deal.
Shinasi Rama said in a television interview with the CNN that organisation would honour its commitments and work as a reliable partner with the international community.
But he stressed that total disarmament would prevent it from defending its people from what he called Serbian aggression.
Disarming the KLA forms part of the peace deal agreed last week.
