With many of the results now in from the elections for the new Scottish parliament, it appears certain that the Labour Party, which forms the British government, will win the largest number of seats.
However, it's likely to fall short of an overall majority and will have to form a coalition with another party to govern in the parliament - the first such body in Scotland for almost three hundred years.
The counting of votes for the new assembly in Wales will not begin until later today, but a survey of voters by the BBC suggests the Labour Party may be denied an overall majority there as well.
The new assemblies are the biggest constitutional change in Britain for many years.
