Austrian jet lands on its belly
An Austrian Airlines jet with 32 people on board made an emergency landing in a snow-covered field early on Monday after reporting engine problems.

The Fokker 70 jet landed about two kilometres from the runway at Munich airport leaving three people slightly hurt and one in shock.

Airport authorities say the pilot reported engine problems and landed without lowering its undercarriage.

The 28 passengers and four crew were taken to the airport terminal by bus.

Airport spokesman Robert Wilhelm said it was unclear whether one or both engines of the jet had problems.

The plane can usually fly on one engine, he said.

An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
