Polish couple held over pickled babies
A Polish couple have been arrested after five of their babies were found dead, stored in a vat of pickled cabbage.

Prosecutors say autopsies and DNA tests found the victims to be the children of the couple, identified as Jolanta, 38, and her husband Andrzej, 44.

The children are alleged to have been killed between 1992 and 2002.

The couple and their four other children, aged 12 to 17, live in the village of Czerniejow, about 175 kilometres (110 miles) south-east of the capital, Warsaw.

The bodies were discovered by two of the children, while playing in the basement.

Prosecutors say the man has pleaded innocent and denies knowing that his wife had been pregnant, the Associated Press has reported.
