Shooting pens seized in Germany
More than 1,200 bullet-firing ballpoints have been seized from the home of a clandestine German entrepreneur with a taste for deadly James Bond-style gadgets.

Police in the southern German city of Bamberg uncovered the pens after receiving a tip-off that he was starting a major production line.

The man was allegedly planning to sell his gadgets for 150 euros a piece.

"His shooting ballpoints were of a very high standard," police spokesman Detlef Puchelt told BBC News Online.

"We've seen them before but not in this quantity or quality."

The pens could carry only small bullets, but were capable of killing their targets if they were just a few metres away, according to Mr Puchelt.

Mr Bond did not use a ballpoint, but did employ a fountain pen when in trouble.

Most famously, In Never Say Never Again, he makes Fatima Blush explode by firing his rocket pen.
