Kosovo war crimes arrests
United Nations police in Kosovo have arrested two ethnic-Albanian men suspected of war crimes during the conflict in the province. The UN says they were detained during the first operation specifically targeting ethnic-Albanians. The two men are former members of the disbanded guerilla group, the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). They're suspected of carrying out killings and abductions against other ethnic-Albanians, and have been charged under Yugoslav law in an investigation not linked to the International War Crimes Tribunal. A BBC correspondent in Kosovo says war crimes remain a sensitive issue in the province, and that the UN has stressed it is not necessarily implicating the KLA in the crimes.
