Russian model gets Becker cash
Angela Ermakova
Ermakova met Becker in a fashionable London bar
The former German tennis star, Boris Becker, has agreed a "generous" financial settlement with a Russian model who gave birth to his daughter, Anna.

Becker and Angela Ermakova had sex in a broom cupboard at a Japanese restaurant in London in 1999.

At first the former world number one tennis player denied he was Anna's father, but he admitted paternity after the results of DNA tests.

Boris Becker: Took responsibility for Anna
He was reported to have offered 2m to support the baby but London's High Court, where the deal was settled, did not confirm the details.

Judge Robert Johnston said: "I think it is appropriate in the circumstances to say that the court has approved the financial provision made by Mr Becker, which is entirely reasonable and indeed generous."

He added: "It is clearly important that appropriate arrangements should be made for Anna's upbringing and in these proceedings the court was asked to determine the financial arrangements to be made."

'Happy' girl

Ms Ermakova, 34, was present in court to hear the result of the settlement.

However Becker, 33, who had been in London over the weekend to attend the Wimbledon tournament, flew out of the country on Monday night.

In February he said he would take responsibility for Anna and would contribute to her future as a "happy girl".

He was officially named as the father by a London judge in March.

New girlfriend

Becker filed for divorce from his wife Barbara in a German court in December, but she hit back with a divorce suit in the United States, seeking custody of their two sons and alimony.

They reached a settlement at the end of January in the US courts, agreeing to share custody of their two sons.

Days later, German newspapers reported that he had a new lover, 27-year-old German pop singer Sabrina Setlur, although reports a month later suggested the couple had split up.

Becker rocketed to worldwide fame in 1985 when, at 17, he became the youngest player ever to win the Wimbledon men's singles title
