Angel of Mostar still on hunger strike

The British government says an aid worker on hunger strike in a Serbian prison in Kosovo is continuing to refuse food and drink.

A senior diplomat who visited Sally Becker (said the prison authorities were monitoring her health, but that she was currently fit and well.

Miss Becker began her hunger strike on Thursday after being arrested last week for illegally crossing the Yugoslav border.

She told the BBC that her protest was over the conflict in Kosovo and the effect it was having on civilians.

At the time of her arrest she was returning from Albania where she had been helping families fleeing the conflict in Kosovo.
