Chechen rebels kill 3 Russian soldiers
Reports from Russia say three more Russian soldiers have been killed and eighteen others wounded in a weekend violence in Chechnya. The three men died on Sunday when their vehicles hit landmines. Russian news agencies had earlier reported that eight Russian servicemen were killed in eleven rebel attacks in Chechnya over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Chechen administration building in the capital, Grozny, came under rebel fire on Monday. Police said two members of the administration were wounded by fire from automatic rifles and grenade launchers. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
