Mike Ingham
Mike Ingham, BBC Radio's highly-respected football correspondent, has covered major competitions all over the world.

Having begun his BBC career with Radio Derby in 1973, he moved to Network Sport in London in 1979 and presented Radio 2's Sport On 2 programme for four years.

He started commentating on football in 1984, working alongside Peter Jones, and succeeded Bryon Butler as the BBC's football correspondent in 1991.

Ingham has covered every World Cup Finals tournament and European Championship since the mid-80s, and earlier this year commentated for the first time from Brazil on the inaugural World Club Championship.

He is hoping that it'll be a case of 'fourth time lucky' if England are involved in a penalty shoot-out during Euro 2000...

He was on air when Waddle and Pearce missed their penalties against Germany at Italia 90, when Gareth Southgate failed from the spot during Euro 96, and again for David Batty's miss against Argentina at France 98!
