Nisa Saveljic

Nisa Saveljic
Nisa Saveljic started his career with Buducnost Podogorica but first grabbed the headlines when he won the league and cup with Partizan Belgrade, scoring seven times in the process.

The reliable and solid centre-back then moved to Bordeaux in 1997 and played a vital role in their 1998-99 French title-winning campaign.

He made his international debut against Hong Kong in January 1995 but has struggled to establish himself in the first team, although recently it would appear his man-marking skills and distribution are finally being recognised.

Saveljic played in three of the Euro 2000 qualifiers, being booked in the games against Malta and Macedonia, and his prospects of a regular place in the team this summer is still in the balance.
