Under-fire Boskov announces squad
Yugoslavia
Yugoslavia have been criticised following recent poor results

Yugoslavia's national coach Vujadin Boskov has announced his 22-man squad for Euro 2000 following criticism aimed at his side's recent performances.

Partizan Belgrade striker Mateja Kezman and Red Star Belgrade defender Ivan Dudic are two of just the four domestic league based players named in the Yugoslav squad.

Dudic comes in for Juventus star Zoran Mirkovic, who picked up a three-game ban in the qualifiers.

Boskov's team are currently on tour in the Far East and have been fiercely attacked by the Yugoslav press for a string of poor results.

But the coach remains optimistic about his side's chances in Euro 2000 following a 2-0 win over China and two goalless draws against South Korea.

"Yugoslavia has much better players than all other teams in the finals," said Boskov.

"Our only problem is that they are based in foreign clubs and only get together at occasions such as this.

"But if we are smart and manage to solve this problem, I am convinced that we can be European champions."

Yugoslavia squad:

Goalkeepers: Aleksandar Kocic (Red Star Belgrade), Zeljko Cicovic (Las Palmas), Ivica Kralj (PSV Eindhoven).

Defenders: Ivan Dudic (Red Star Belgrade), Goran Djorovic (Celta Vigo), Miroslav Djukic (Valencia), Sinisa Mihajlovic (Lazio), Slobodan Komljenovic (Kaiserslautern), Nisa Saveljic (Girondins Bordeaux), Goran Bunjevcevic (Red Star Belgrade), Dejan Govedarica (RKC Waalwijk).

Midfielders: Slavisa Jokanovic (Deportivo Coruna), Dejan Stankovic (Lazio), Vladimir Jugovic (Inter Milan), Dragan Stojkovic (Nagoya Grampus Eight), Ljubinko Drulovic (Porto), Jovan Stankovic (Real Mallorca), Albert Nadj (Oviedo).

Strikers: Predrag Mijatovic (Fiorentina), Savo Milosevic (Real Zaragoza), Darko Kovacevic (Juventus), Mateja Kezman (Partizan Belgrade).
