Yugoslavia held by South Korea
South Korea 0-0 Yugoslavia
Yugoslavia continued their tour of Asia with an unconvincing 0-0 draw in South Korea.
But Vujadin Boskov, the Yugoslav coach, will be more worried about Predrag Mijatovic, who, according to agency reports, was substituted with an injury.
The game was the first of a two match series and Korea started much the stronger.
At half-time Yugoslavia brought on Savo Milosevic for the injured Mijatovic, but it was the Koreans who again went close.
Lee Chun-Soo struck the ball well from near the penalty spot but could not beat the keeper.
Yugoslavia then took control of the game with Saveljic and Jokanovic both going close but neither side could break the deadlock.
South Korea coach Huh Jung-Moos said: "I'm satisfied with my kids who played well in the midfield, making several good chances."
And Yugoslavia coach Vujadin Boskov admitted his side may have underestimated the South Koreans.
"Lee and some other Korean players were outstanding. I tested the system of my team," he said.
"We will come back with new strategies in the next game."
