Tayfun Korkut
He would have been an appropriate goalscorer as he is German-born of Turkish parents. Korkut began his career with Stuttgart Kickers, playing alongside Fredi Bobic in the youth section. But when the club were relegated to the third division, he moved to Turkey to join Fenerbahce in the summer of 1995. There his career took off and in November 1995 he made his international debut against Sweden, a 2-2 draw that ensured Turkey's qualification for Euro 96 where he played in the last game, a 3-0 defeat by Denmark. At club level he quickly formed a productive partnership with Oguz that eased his path into the national side.
