Ogun Temizkanoglu
Began his international career in midfield but is now more often found in the middle of a back three or as a sweeper. Possesses an adventurous streak that can cost his side. Made his debut against Ireland in a goalless draw in Izmir in 1990 and scored the last of his five international goals in the 3-1 defeat in Istanbul by Finland last October - his first since scoring against Macedonia in August 1995. Began his career playing amateur football in Germany, where he was born to Turkish immigrants. There he caught the eye of scouts from Trabzonspor. Back in Turkey, he made his League debut in midfield, although he has also played at full-back for both club and country. Won the Cup in 1992 and 1995 with Trabzonspor before moving to Fenerbahce in a £8.4m package along with international team-mate Abdullah Ercan. Has not enjoyed the best of starts with his new club, having already been sent off during Fenerbahce's unimpressive opening to the season. Played in six of the qualifiers, missing the win in Finland and the opening game against Northern Ireland. After enjoying his best domestic season, in which he was Trabzonspor's outstanding player, he started all three games of Euro 96.
