Tugay sent home by Turkey
Turkey midfielder Tugay Kerimoglu has been expelled from the team after a row with coach Mustafa Denizli.
Tugay was furious after being substituted during the 2-0 win over Belgium and Denizli has decided to adopt a firm stance.
Denizli replaced Kerimoglu, who plays for Scottish champions Glasgow Rangers, with Tayfur Havutcu in the 37th minute.
An angry Kerimoglu left the pitch from the opposite side of the substitutes bench, then walked around the field and threw his shin pads at Denizli while leaving the stadium.
"Players who do not respect the coach have no place on my team," said Denizli, who ignored requests by the other members of the squad not to send Tugay back to Istanbul.
"As long as I am coach of the Turkish national team, I cannot accept this type of behavior."
Kerimoglu said afterwards: "It was something I should not have done. I apologise to my coach."
He added that the reason for his "unforgivable" behaviour was due to the tense atmosphere surrounding the game.
