Sweden in 'no sex' shocker
![]() Ljungberg approves of the 'no sex' rule
Sweden's coaches Tommy Soderberg and Lars Lagerback have imposed a strict sex ban on their players, just days before the start of Euro 2000.
The Swedes failed to qualify for Euro 96 and the 1998 World Cup in France, and Soderberg believes that the 'no sex' rule will help the players prepare better for the forthcoming tournament. Arsenal midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg felt that the management duo had the right to ask for the players to refrain from any sexual antics. "After having sex the night before (a match), I lose all feelings in my feet," said Ljungberg. "I'm totally empty. I can't control the ball any more. Instead I watch erotic movies the previous night. That doesn't affect my power." The England coaching staff imposed a similar ban on their squad during France 98.
