Miguel Salgado
His energy and commitment are unquestionable and it was his tackle that put Brazil's Juninho out of France 98. A great success for the Spanish under-21s, he helped them to win the European Championship in 1998. Salgado's full international debut came in the 3-2 defeat in Cyprus in September 1998 and he appeared in eight of Spain's Euro 2000 qualifying games. He began his career with Celta Vigo before signing for Real Madrid in a £7.8m move.
