Saso Udovic

Saso Udovic
The most experienced striker in the squad having developed his trade with Svoboda in his homeland, before moving on to Olimpija Ljubljana.

He then switched to Hadjuk Split in neighbouring Croatia and after a successful spell moved regularly throughout western Europe, playing for Belgian club Beveren and Young Boys Berne and Lausanne in Switzerland.

This versatile and speedy forward has now joined up with countryman Zeljko Milinovic at Austrian side LASK Linz.

Made his Slovenian debut in a 2-0 win over Austria in March 1997.

Although his scoring has dried up recently, his record is phenomenal, having scored ten goals in his first 20 games for his country.

Has fantastic dribbling ability, is a predator inside the six yard box and has the strength to hold the ball up for supporting colleagues.

Udovic played in all of Slovenia's 12 European qualifiers, including the two tense games with Ukraine.

Will be a handful for any defence this summer.
