Miran Pavlin
A very defensively minded midfielder who began his career in his homeland with Naklo.
Then moved on to Olimpija before securing a high profile move to Germany.
He started in the Bundesliga with Dynamo Dresden before moving on to Freiburg, but found himself playing in the German second division having agreed to go on loan to Karlsruhe.
Pavlin is a very reliable and tireless performer, a crisp passer of the ball and although he rarely ventures forward is also a threat at set-pieces.
Made his Slovenian debut in November 1993 playing against Slovakia and recently acquired hero status by scoring a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Ukraine in the play-off clash.
