Fiorentina eye Zahovic swoop
![]() Zlatko Zahovic celebrates his opener against Yugoslavia
Slovenia striker Zlatko Zahovic has been linked with a move to Fiorentina following his dazzling display against Yugoslavia on Tuesday.
An official with the Slovenian side said the Olympiakos striker had held talks with the Italian Serie A side. "He had talks with Fiorentia yesterday but at this stage there is nothing more to say," spokesman Rok Sinkovic said.
Fiorentina have already lost Argentine striker Gabriel
Batistuta to Serie A rivals Roma, while Portugal midfielder Rui Costa
has also said he has asked to leave the club.
Tottenham have also been linked with a £2m move for Zahovic. But Sinkovic insisted: "Fiorentina is all I know of at the moment." Zahovic, who was banned from playing for Olympiakos and fined around £40,000 for swearing at coach Alberto Bigon in April, has said he is eager to leave the Greek champions.
